Rancho Carrillo is a large new subdivision in eastern Carlsbad,
bordering San Marcos. In fact, it’s the largest earth moving project
in Carlsbad history! The climate is ideal, a few miles inland, so
it’s out of the fog and yet not too hot.
The prices here are the most reasonable in Carlsbad, perhaps because
the area is a few miles from the ocean and the freeway, or perhaps
because the San Marcos school district is not as highly rated as
Carlsbad’s. The brand new Carrillo Elementary School, however, has
just received a high ranking in it’s first year of operation.
The community has an “Old California” ranch feeling. The architecture
of some of the homes maintains this Spanish/Mediterranean motif,
and Rancho Carrillo is the only place in Carlsbad to get this
kind of style. There are homes ranging from townhomes to estate
homes, in all price ranges.
Here’s some large homes in Rancho Carrillo, built by Toll
Brothers. These homes range in size from 3200-4400 square feet,
and are currently priced from $900K to $1.5M, depending on view
and upgrades.
The community also boasts a pool, recreation center, an historic
ranch park, and a huge network of walking trails.
This is a street scene of homes in the 2200-2600 square foot range,
built by Continental Homes. Prices here begin in the high $600,000s.
